Glen Fraser
Glen D. Fraser is a computer engineer with a passion for virtual
reality and other forms of realtime visual computing. His first
"in-virtuo" experience came at the Computer Graphics Lab at the
University of Alberta, where he worked for a summer on the
Minimal Reality Toolkit. He obtained his Bachelor of Science
degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta.
Upon completion of this program, he joined the "Art and Virtual
Environments Project" at the Banff
Centre for the Arts in Banff, Canada. There he was one of a
team of developers working with artists to produce eight virtual
reality pieces, with the Placeholder
project being one of the first (and more complex) ones completed.
At the conclusion of the A & VE project in 1994, he moved to
California, to work with Telepresence Research. At TR he was
responsible for software development and system integration, most
notably for the "Virtual Brewery Adventure" which is now
permanently installed at Sapporo Beer's headquarters in Tokyo.
At the completion of that project, he moved to Montreal. He
currently works at SOFTIMAGE as a software developer in realtime
viewing, motion capture and motion control.
