Lucinda
deLorimier
Lucinda Sahm DeLorimier is a teacher and
professional storyteller. She teaches English
at the John Woolman School in Nevada City
and storytelling at Dominican College in
San Rafael as well as other independent storytelling
workshops. She earned a B.A. in English from
Indiana University and has done graduate
studies in folklore at Dominican, where she
received her certificate in storytelling.
She began her career as a graphic artist
and moved into a long period of free-lance
commerical art, including signmaking, lettering,
logo design, and painting names on fishing
boats. Then she became a breeder and everything
changed. Raising her two children rekindled
her interest in storytelling and gave her
career a new direction. Lucinda's experience
in interactive media includes conceiving
and authoring the story of "Ecco the
Dolphin," Sega's most successful gender-encopassing
game. She collaborated with Brenda
Laurel on the design and prototype production of a multimedia
storytelling workshop entitled "Finding Your Voice" for Paramount
New Media. Her work was instrumental in creating the narrative
dimensions of Placeholder. She is currently collaborating with
Brenda
Laurel on a new interactive project for young girls.
